Angle and Channel

Angles and Channels

With the wide range of products available at Ruwais Steel, we can deliver the products required for your construction and manufacturing needs. We have continued to supply our customers with quality steel products and consistently receive positive feedback.

What is Angle / Channel?

Angles are commonly used in the construction of buildings, equipment, vehicles, and other objects that we use in our everyday lives. They are economical and highly reliable for use as supporting structures in construction.

Angles are steel structures with an L-shaped cross-section. The length of the legs can either be equal or unequal, while the angle between the legs is typically 90 degrees.

A channel is a hot-rolled mild steel structure with a C-shaped cross-section. It consists of a long vertical web and two flanges.

Steel channels can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. They are generally lighter and more flexible than many other structural sections, although they may experience twisting under certain loading conditions.

Manufacturing of Angle / Channel

Angle irons are manufactured using a roll-forming process. A roll former contains several rollers that gradually shape a metal bar into an angle section.

This manufacturing method helps produce angle sections with consistent dimensions and reliable quality.

Steel channels are mild steel structures that are hot-rolled and formed into a C-shaped cross-section. Steel channels are commonly manufactured to conform with standards such as ASTM A36.

Types of Angle / Channel

At Ruwais Steel, we offer a wide range of angles and channels to suit various construction and industrial requirements. We also provide customized dimensions for specialized applications.

C Channel

C Channel

The C Channel is a widely used component in construction works. It is manufactured from hot-rolled steel and generally consists of a wide flat surface with two flanges positioned at right angles on both ends.

C Channels are highly durable and, because of their broad and flat surfaces, can be easily attached to other structural components.

They are also strong enough to provide structural support in applications such as bridge decks, building frameworks, and industrial structures.

C Channel steel is available in a wide range of sizes, making it suitable for different industries and applications.

  • Construction and structural support
  • Bridge decks
  • Vehicle manufacturing
  • Industrial frameworks
  • General fabrication

The required size and grade of the C Channel are determined according to the structural specifications and application requirements.

H Beam

H Beam

An H Beam is a strong structural beam manufactured from rolled steel. It is known as an H Beam because its cross-section resembles the capital letter H.

H Beams have wide flanges and are therefore sometimes referred to as Wide Flange Beams.

The horizontal section of the beam is known as the flange, while the vertical section is known as the web. H Beam specifications are commonly expressed using the beam height and flange width.

Height × Flange Width Standard Cross Section
100 × 100 8
125 × 125 8
150 × 150 8
175 × 175 13
200 × 200 13
250 × 250 13
300 × 300 13
350 × 350 13
400 × 400 22

I Beam

I Beam

An I Beam has a cross-section shaped like the capital letter I. It consists of two horizontal components called flanges, which are connected by a vertical section known as the web.

The height of the web is generally greater than the width of the flanges. I Beam specifications are commonly expressed according to the dimensions of the flange and web.
